Piper Novak's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
Dear family and friends,
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission: to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
My family and I were introduced to LLS when I was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of 2 1/2. Since then, we have helped raise awareness of LLS by participating in Light the Night, Team in Training (to support my oncologist and again for my friend Cheryl) and the Stair Climb (go Kolby!) fundraisers, Man and Woman of the Year, and in 2014, I was the Illinois and National Girl of the Year.
Last year, my brother and I volunteered at the Student Visionaries of the Year Grand Finale and I was inspired by all of the incredible candidates! I knew that evening that I wanted to show my appreciation to the doctors and researchers who work to improve and save the lives of patients, the staff at LLS who provide patients and caregivers with support and education through their diagnosis and treatment, and those who advocate for policy changes that accelerate the development of new treatments and breakdown barriers to care. All of these people contributed to my own blood cancer journey and my survival.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of patients fighting blood cancers today, in honor of survivors like me, and in memory of those we have lost, THANK YOU!!

With gratitude,
